Year after year, we continue to find the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) a very successful show for us. The 3 days show held in Atlanta, Georgia was, as usual, a very highly attended event. While COVID-19 has changed the landscape of the show over the last few years, there has been steady increase back up towards pre-pandemic numbers. In 2023 the show saw over 1,180 exhibitors throughout 533,000 square feet of exhibit space, with approximately 28,000 attendees (a growth of 6,000 attendees from 2022). The show focuses on Innovation, making it a fantastic platform to introduce new products to the market, and view the latest trends in R&D and technology.
With the shows speaker series, TECHtalks, being back to in person this year, we were thrilled to earn one of the spots to present our topic of choice; Automation & Robotics in the Red Meat Industry. In addition, several new exciting solutions were revealed at this years IPPE, which gained a lot of interest from the cattle industry, who clearly see the potential and need in the new Frontmatec solutions. These new solutions include:
Robotic Cattle Splitter
The Robotic Cattle Splitter is the much anticipated solution for the cattle harvest floor. It’s equipped with an industrial robot of six axes with hygienic configuration and a highly optimized and specialized tool. The channels are split into two halves along the spine. Benefits of this robot are improved ergonomics, labor utilization, reduced missplits and a greater cut accuracy.
Robotic Beef Loin Drop
The cattle loin dropping task consists of cutting the sirloin from the round. This cut is very important, as there is a large difference of value between the two parts. This machine automates the cutting operation with a proper carcass stabilization and cut path location. Benefits of the only automatic machine on the market to cut the hindquarter are optimization of the cut regarding customer specifications, precise cutting of the hindquarter, consistent cut over time, vision controlled, easy setup, and a fast and reliable robot.
Robotic Chine Bone Saw for Beef
Created to further the safety of the operator from the current method – an open cut witih a band saw – while maintaining a high capacity of >1100 pieces per hour. Benefits of this robot are labor savings, yield and quality improvement, operator safety and consistency.
If you were unable to make it to the show, or visit our booth, we’d love to share more with you on these three new solutions we’ve been working diligently on over the last 12+ months. Contact us today!
